Winner of the 100 Best Communities for Young People

For the second time in three years, America’s Promise Alliance has named Sacramento County one of the nation's 2008 winners. The competition recognizes outstanding communities across America—large and small, rural and urban—that are the best places for young people to live and grow up. More than 300 communities applied for the honor this year. Sacramento County, which also represents seven incorporated cities, was selected in part because of the numerous agencies and programs committed to providing healthy, safe and caring environments for young people. For more information about Sacramento’s award see the press release.
